Updated the Mind Mix Radio Audio Player & Chat Page - Apr 13 2019

PRODUCER Cyrellys.  All updated!

Added a "return to home" option.  Cleared out excess images so page would load faster.  Moved the news feeds to a more prominent position under the show posts.  Increased the show posts viewing to 5 per page from the previous 3.  Balanced the widgets. 

Main website was updated yesterday.  New look and format.  Slide out menu - choose icon top right on main site.

Also integrating the Open Minds Forum.  Revamp pending.

Power Interruption Brings Rotation of IP address

Producer. Going rounds with IP rotation for Icecast stream. There's better solution in the works but so far it takes time to do a manual adjustment for the listener end. I've implemented a html5 player for each of the IPs that tend to be part of the rotation. One will work for the listener once the Icecast config has been updated. Look closely at the "play" arrow on the player. I'm currently learn more about a process involving "no-IP" as a solution. Updates pending.

Adding Bitchute to Mind Mix Radio

Producer.  Hi All, I'm working hard to get ready to put our evening shows into video for all those who want to catch use via an archive. 

The previous archive has limitations and I'm once again trying out alternative options.  Many in the liberty community are already making good use of Bitchute and its popularity with viewers is skyrocketing upwards from where I first reviewed it a year ago.  I've been keen to find a good alternative to the Youtube neurosis and it looks like Bitchute is it.  I like their courteous ability to self classify content from a default of age 13+, to NSFW (not safe for work), etc. 

Their interface seems easy to use.  The upload times might take awhile and I might have to split files to make episodes smaller.  But overall I do like it and eventually it will not just be audio but actual video.

Station Update February 23 2018 - NEW STREAM URL

The station's relationship with Listen2MyRadio has finally come to an end.

Had enough of the random off air and manual restart.  Had enough of the too touchy administrative controls - pass a mouse over the wrong function accidentally and the system jumps to a new server with new everything.  It served its purpose well enough when Awdio went belly up.

I came into the studio day before yesterday to discover that not only was it down but that the whole thing had been reset to zero thereby nixing the previous url permanently.  OK FINE.  Went directly to Icecast and downloaded their direct console and were now back up and running.

We have a new stream url:  http://192.168.60.100:8000/stream

You may use the stream direct or remove the '/stream' part of the url address and go to the server itself where you click on the right-hand M3U button to start the stream in your favorite music player on your desktop.  This method works best with VLC Media Player installed which is designed to play streams.  The link to VLC's Media Player is on the main page at http://mindmixradio.com  Look for the signature orange hazard cone.  Can't miss it.

This Listen Live + Chatroom page has now been fully updated.  The HTML5 player WORKS!  Look to your right just across from the Chat box.  That's the simple player.  Press the arrow.  Should start automatically.

The StreamFinder alternative was problematic the last few months with the previous stream.  I will attempt to update it next, if it doesn't test out I will drop it from the line up.  TBA.

The new stream is set at 64kbps.  There's only one stream at this time.

OTHER NEWS

Cyrellys has been on a month long break from the evening show.  There's been a ton to do and the extra time has been needed.  Our apologies to all the listeners who stopped in to find no evening talk Tuesdays & Thursdays.  

The show will be back up in March.  See you all soon!

Midnight Plus Coffee Equals Epiphany

I've lost count how many epiphanies I've had at midnight.  I blame it on the coffee.  It's convenient.

For six months or more I've been hunting for a means to put Mind Mix Radio's preferred chatroom and a custom listen live player on the same page for those listeners who need a one stop shop for the radio station.  Weird part is, I had the solution right under my nose all along.  I've had a couple of blogs at Blogger for years that I've used off and on during periods of public activity in the exopolitical genre as I looked over the landscape.  Turns out that their sites are capable of everything I need to solve that long-running problem. 

So here will debut what was originally intended for interactive participation on the listener side.  It will also play host to station updates and episode links to the station archive.  Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions.  The whole idea here is to have a good place for public engagement.  The chatroom will be at the top of the page along with the live player.
